The General Manager will be fully responsible for the operations, revenue and profitability of aesthetic
skin centers in Southern California, as well as additional locations that may be added in the future. The
General Manager will manage/develop the organization and is accountable for all aspects of managing a
medical aesthetics practice with multiple locations. This leader drives the business at each location
through a focus on performance (sales, service, and expense control), people (talent acquisition, training,
and development), and process (standard operating procedures and compliance standards). This position
requires a passion for process excellence, a drive for results, and the ability to lead, influence and
develop their team. This role will manage/develop the sales organization, develop/implement marketing
strategy, build and implement digital strategy, managing operational processes, managing full P&L and
build a strong organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with medical director and other key providers to develop a strategy to consistently and profitably provide a high-quality medical aesthetic experience for patients and skin care customers
- Collaborate with medical professionals, estheticians, and support staff to ensure high standards of care and exceptional customer service
- Create a vision, set ambition, define strategy and build a business plan to grow medical services and product sales revenue
- Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
- Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy, with a clear position and maintain ways of doing business to focus on medical dispensed skin care market
- Focus on end-user results by proper customer education and working to achieve the best customer result
- Oversee inventory management and controls, including procurement and proper maintenance of aesthetic treatment devices, consumable supplies and skin care products in appropriate quantities to meet patient and customer demand
- Build a marketing organization that can develop and implement strategies to support continues growth and driving customer and end-user awareness
- Manage all digital programs for the centers, from the website to social media platforms to paid media
- Manage budget, financial reports and track patient financial performance metrics
- Take initiative to stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work time and be knowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these trends, products, and services to better serve guests
- Lead all aspects of manager and associate development including training, providing
- individualized competency-based feedback and coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and individual development plans to enable continuous development
- Create and implement policies to maintain operational efficiency and service quality
- Maintaining compliance with all applicable quality and regulatory guidelines as an integral part of business operations
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to the practice of aesthetic medicine and medical grade product sales, including applicable FDA regulations, medical oversight and supervision requirements, HIPAA, OSHA, FMLA, CLIA, and state-specific laws
- Ensure proper staffing in each of the clinics to maximize sales, profit and ensure a positive customer and brand experience
Position Requirements
- 10-15 years’ experience working in a medical practice focused on dermatology and medical aesthetics – retail sales experience a plus
- Experience working with and managing physicians, nurses and other aesthetic providers
- Strong understanding of financial metrics applicable to running a profitable medical and retail operation
- General understanding of rules and regulations regarding scope of treatment and supervision requirements for aesthetics providers, including registered nurses and aestheticians
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented/organized
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Occasional nights and weekends will be required
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Physical Demands
- Work in office team environment with others
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Regular travel among the local skin centers
